And I think RON COBB also was involved at some point. So, it was like a hundred of artists and designers involved in the design and developement of the creature. You are right, would be great to know the whole story of the design -so many stupid books of all these franchises and none of them any good...-

I received and email from DONALD F. GLUT

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_F._Glut

http://www.donaldfglut.com/credits.html

who wrote some episodes of the cartoon DINO-RIDERS of the 80's. I asked him is Stout was actually involved in the project and he confirmed:

Quote:
I think Bill was one of the designers. Comic-book artist Frank Brunner also worked on that show.

Frank Brunner worked in some Conan comics (I think the excellent "Scarlet Cidatel") and also was one of the several artist Milius had in mind to work of the CTB movie before Stout was finally hired.

Some examples of the amazing talent of Brunner:

BTW, Donald F. Glut also was the writter of the first minicomis that came with the first "Masters of the Universe" figures in 1981. He was the one who conveived He-Man as a barbarian (forget about the Prince Adam stuff from the later cartoon).

Thats interesting, Turd. Dino-Riders was a decent series and the toys for their time were high quality.

Frank Brunner is also a Frazetta fan? His female form drawing seems to indicate that I guess.

I guess Brunner likes Frazetta very much, yes. But from Stout to Frank Cho, who doesn't?

Stout made the designs for the aliens in the 1986 so-so remake "INVADERS FROM MARS" directed by Tobe "Chainsaw" Hooper. The Alien boss was this piece of shit:

And then the evil Alien boss from the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" cartoon of 1987:

HAHA Krang, yeah.

Although the brain alien does resemble the Predator upper cranium, even has that ring like thing thats extends from the browridges all the way around the head.

Except on the Preds the dreadlock-like hair extends out from underneath:

STOUT has made some concept art for Guillermo Del Toro's "AT THE MOUNTAIN OF MADNESS" project, based on Lovecraft's novel:

Now I would wish GIGER was also doing stuff for that movie...

Will Stout did this:

Designed 12 "Factasaurus" bumpers for the "DINK THE LITTLE DINOSAUR" Saturday morning animated series; also painted background and titles.

That "DINK" series was a total rip-off of "THE LAND BEFORE TIME" movie which by the way was hugely inspired on Stout.

That "Land before..." spawned a series of vomitive and never ending sequels of amazing success thinking they were so extremely bad it gave cancer to a whole generation.

The later Disney movie "DINOSAUR" was also a total rip off of "THE LAND BEFORE TIME".

And Stout also worked on that Disney one.

Self declared influences on Stout:

Stout start collecting E.C. comics ("Tales from the Crypt" and so) in 1968. All that artwork surely influenced him hugely and that can be seen in his work in the funny "RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD" movie.

CONCEPT ART of Stout for his S&S movie (he himself wrotte the script) "KAIN OF THE DARK PLANET":

To Stout's upset, his script was heavily modified and turned into that very bad Kurosawa's "Yojimbo" knockoff, retitled "THE WARRIOR AND THE SORECERESS". And guess what. There was NO sorceress in the whole story. Laughing

What there was, was a girl with 4 reasons to ignore the fact of the stupid title:

This thingy had David I-like-bizarre-sex-Bill Carradine as the main star:

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_-h21a4dOz48/SiiBEWJ3UZI/AAAAAAAABRs/gLGGrK9MmQ0/s1600-h/warsorceress6.jpg

In the poster he was transformed into a Schwarzenegger-like ultra-muscled warrior, then in the movie he was allways dressed with that black coat to not show he wasn't the same guy than in the Conan knocking-off poster.

See previous posts of this same thread for more info of this movie-thingy. Wink
