The point is, what if THULSA DOOM is not really "evil", but the member of a race of DEMIURGES. Supposedly "the last living Atlantean", what if his race was so highly evolved that they had the plan of creating "THE ULTIMATE MAN"...

That makes sense. ABRAXAS was actually the mixing of GOD and the DEVIL in one only entity. So, THULSA DOOM would have both sides in one. He wants to create the supreme human, but to do that he kills tons of people. -(we got a "national socialism" hitlerian figure, again)-.





Everything was planned. Doom chose the young Conan as the prime matter of his experiment. Thulsa Doom assassined his mother in front of the eyes of Conan, knowing the effect that the action would cause in the little child.


Then he took him to the training season: the wheel of pain, the gladiator pit, and then the arts and technical learning.



Then, Conan is free... But ALLWAYS watched by the Big Brother.




A proof Conan is constantly under "vigilance" is the witch, and agent of THULSA DOOM and another test in the experiment. She says "THEY TOLD ME YOU WILL COME". And also she reveals to Conan the objetive of the expriment, and his destiny: "TO BECOME KING". The witch was only a test as it was not planned Conan to be devoured and die. If not, how could he become a king...




Along these years, Thulsa Doom has been building serpent towers, hoping for his "experiment" to show up. One night, Conan enters in one of these traps, following the "serpent" symbolism that Thulsa made sure the barbarian had in mind all these years.



Notice the ALL SEEYING EYE is everywhere... Constant vigilation of the experiment...




THULSA DOOM builds the ULTIMATE FEMALE for his experiment. He builds her in his secret laboratory with Tyrrel Corporation technology and finally Valeria is born. She is PERFECT. And also, she doesn't know she is a REPLICANT!!

Conan is captured and crucified -but before that, DOOM reveals to him "the riddle of the steel". Ooohh, sure he knew Conan would survive the tree, and gave him another great gift.

The death of Valeria is of course also planned. Why he didn't kill Conan with the arrow??? Nay, because IT'S ALL A PLAN. Now Valeria dies and Conan is the toughest ass kicker ever. The experiment is finished.

Now, the final test. Conan kills two early failed experiments -rexor and thorgrim- and finally THULSA DOOM commites suicide because HE KNEW his experiment would come to kill him.

You know, a self-sacrifice for science.

THULSA DOOM = DOCTOR FRANKENSTEIN.



End of this crap.

All of this almost makes sense as Oliver Stone had a large hand in the creation of the original screen play. Stone seems to thrive on grand conspiracy theories and of course you know he was probably all jacked up on coke when the screenplay was put together! I guess the next time that I watch CTB, I'll be dissecting and scrutinizing every little detail. I'll be keeping an especially watchful eye open for the gunman on the grassy knoll, and of course... ELVIS!

In Stone's script, its really ,"post apocalyptic modern earth", "hell on earth" and "downfall of the civilization through bestiality"..just a lotve animal sex and drugs. This is fairly consistent with the bible or other religious works from the past. The concepts of Social Darwinism and reverse Evolution kinda shit happeing, this is common themes in CONAN, not escapable even when reading Howard.

Thulsa Doom..is purely a coward, a snake in the grass. Always running back into his hole. He likes to cheap attack or use deception primarily..knows nothing of honor or loyalty. He's really a typical storybook villain and a murderous charlatan.

Yeah, I think we almost got "Thundarr the Barbarian" instead of Conan. Which may have been cool, but still not Conan.

And.....what if Conan was in fact the REAL son of Thulsa Doom ? Think about it...Conan was actually raised in the Cimmerian village by ADOPTIVE parents. His adoptive father stuffed his head full of secret-of-steel ideas and other nonsense about a god who doesn't answer your prayers, women can't be trusted, etc... But years later, when he has grown up, Doom finally tells Conan the truth: flesh is tronger than steel. And, at the end, when Thulsa Doom tells Conan that he is his father, he is not lying, just telling the truth again, like Darth Vader to Luke Skywalker, see ?
