Quote :
Big O's summoning is an homage to Mitsuteru Yokoyama's Giant Robo. By calling the megadeus' name into his wristwatch, Roger informs the giant it is "Showtime!" and it comes to its master's side.[4] The boot sequence ("Cast in the name of God, Ye not guilty") is a design of series director Kazuyoshi Katayama. Katayama first learned of the phrase through a magazine article on John Milius and the Conan the Barbarian series. According to the article, the phrase comes from the swords of executioners in the 17th century. A variation of the phrase ("Suffer no guilt ye who wields this in the name of Crom") is engraved in Conan's sword.[5] Katayama liked the sound of it and decided to use it as the robot's call to arms

Good catch. I don't know that anime, as i'm not a fan of these kind of movies.

Also the Miyazaki's anime NAUSICAA OF THE VALLEY OF THE WIND I thoguth could be inspired by the Milius' film. (Hayao Miyazaki movies are the few animes I really like).

The anime was based in a manga which started being drawn in 1982 and the movie is dated 1984, so the CTB inspiration is possible.

The movie is set in a post-apocalyptic future. Nausicaa is a girl who lives in a tribe of kinda like barbarians. One day the village suffers the invasion of the army of the princess KUSHANA. This army has very similar standarts to Thulsa-Doom's.
They have a "SUN AND CRESCENT MOON" in their amors. Also, when they destroyed the village, they rised a flag with a very similar symbol to the main Doom's one -(Confronting snakes).

The princess Kushana herself had some other symbols similar to Doom's in her armor, helmet and tiara. The one from her tiara looks fairly similar to this Set one:

Some pics of Kushana. Not too good but you can see the symbols. Some of them look like stylized versions of Thulsa-Doom's standars, also in the movie the whole army had some others -the one on the flag was specially Conanesque but couldn't find any pic-:

HA, good catch there too. It seems the Japanese were in turn influenced by CONAN.

Popular 80's Japanese made cartoons used the Cult of Set symbol

Also in the popular Japanese anime series, HELLSING, one of the main villains Incognito swears by Set and is very Thulsa Doom like and inspired(movie version) and uses a few lines from CONAN even I believe.

^Notice the bulging prominent Eye there too.

Quote :
This masochistic vampire is from "the dark continent," a reference to Africa. Though physically androgynous, he is generally thought to be male. Extremely powerful, he combines dark magic with an enchanted ArmsCor 40 mm grenade launcher that fires spines. Incognito vomits into the launcher's cartridges before loading; and he also is known to have a gatling gun as backup. During the final plot arc of the series he summons a snake-like being referred to as Sett (presumably the Egyptian god of chaos) and takes it into his body in order to use its power to attack Alucard. Incognito has regenerative powers which seem to be related to the purple stripes and sigils covering his body. It has also been argued that,[who?] while Alucard may be inspired by, or is Count Dracula, Incognito may have been inspired by the vampire Count Orlok, from the 1922 silent movie Nosferatu.[citation needed] Incognito does not appear in the manga and his name comes from the literal definition of the word, incognito. Alucard also states in episode nine that Incognito is an anagram
