Yeah, the CTB I was able to get. But I need the CTD one. I heard there is a 14-20 track expanded version available.

Uh... moving on, I was listening to my expanded CTB sound track, and with my kick ass earbuds, I was able to hear some of the film itself in the distant background. This leads me to think that there is no actual expanded soundtrack, but, rather, a collection of sound rips that have isolated the vocals and lowered them to the most minimum.

Though it was kind of cool to hear Doom's speech in the distant background during that track...

Well, I thought those new tracks were nothing less than the audio tracks used in the movie by the sound technics, you know, the soundtrack without the dialogues -just the ambient effects and the music only- which is a separated one than the dialogues track in order to be sent alone to other countries and put the dubbing over it.

I know I explained myself like shit but I hope you get it Rolling Eyes

There was a "expanded soundtrack" of Blade Runner which was mostly the whole movie in audio but without the dialogues. That's why I thought this one in Conan would be the same. Though i'm only guessing...

Of course these things are bootlegged. Depends on the quality and type of bootleg though. Could be taken from the movie or some prototype and unreleased studio record or whatever.

We''ll never see any authentic Expanded release of the soundtracks, even the official releases were bullshit and missing MANY tracks. Same problem with the lost footage and any possibility of ever getting a STEREO released DVD(fucking mono where is THX when you need them huh?). But something is better than nothing. Wink

Sure. I also find some kind of excitement in the bootleg search, call it archeology passion or something. The moment you find something rare is truly very exciting, no matter the quality or if it's truly complete, but the fact you have find a piece that you can add to the whole picture to go a little bit deeper. Then, of course, the quality is also important in terms of enjoyement, though if one is also interested in some kind of investigation any piece is welcome.

I truly feel is something truly similar to a detective job, or paleonthology something like that Laughing . I used to go digging in an old medieval buried town I know in the countryside, in the search of ancient pieces of ceramic. I remember that every little discovering was a true joy, though of course one is always specting to find something both rare and beautiful, when possible...

That makes me thingk, some day I would really like to go to Almeria to try to find if there's still any little remain of that mountain of power... Damn, I truly wanna do that. bounce

Well, we have seen photo's that show some remains, but I wonder if one "could" even get away with that... not to mention it's kind of like robbing history in a sense... scratch

I would bring a piece home, but you can only get away with that by living in Spain. Otherwise you'd never get through customs carrying that. king

Well, once I had a history teacher who was archeologist. There are laws about getting artifacts from archeological sites, everything that is found belongs to the State unless it's sold in a legal auction and then it's usually so expensive that only rich guys or museums can afford that. Anyone who goes to a site and take things is commiting a "robbery".

In case the site (or the artifact alone) is discovered in a plot of land which belongs to someone, it doesn't even belong to the land's owner, but still belongs to the State. If a building work is being made and some remains appear, the work must be stopped and archeologist must be informed to study the site, no matter how important or urgent the construction work was. In Rome, for example, it's a hell doing any kind of building work because every time you dig the fucking floor something appears. Of course, not always the owners call the archeologists and sadly a lot of becautiful things have been destroyed, that happens every day... Mad

But that is only with important pieces, no one cares about pieces of ceramic or little unimportant pieces. The rule is, in an already excavated place, you can take anything because the important things have been already taken away by the archeologists, anything that is left are things that the guys didn't want. But in case one finds something that looks important -human remains, some complex artifact...- you must report that to a museum or to the police or someone competent. If you own important objects without a receipt, you could go to jail.

My father had an old uncle who had an official archive in his personal office, in his home. He had several artifacts and stone axes and even an amazing mammooth tusk. He lived in the countryside and all those were pieces found in that place, so he reported and classified every object in the name of the town council and then kept them in his home because there was no better physical place in the town -no museum or similar place-. But the objects weren't officialy of his, they belong to the town. Anyone who was interested in study them had the right to do it.

In the particular case of the CONAN movie remains is highly improvable that there are any kind of laws for that. You know, it's not truly an "archeological artifact" though is true is history and has an undeniable value for people like us who can apreciate it. But the State doesn't, believeme. I think you haven't read a post a guy called Domingo wrotte in the spanish forum but he told us about a warehouse in Madrid which was selling -in ridiculous prices- original props from the movie -sadly the warehouse close forever in a couple of days later-. Those should be in a museum, or kep in the collections of people who can take care of them and apreciate the value these little objects have. It's my opinion.

Of course, if the "mountain of power" physical plot of land has a private owner, then everything that lays there belong to him. If it's not of the State, then it belongs to him. What's more, I am totally against spoiling or destroying any ruin, remain or site. For me that is a crime as big as buring a forest. I collect objects which can be handle and can be shown to people who come to my house without being afraid i'm commiting a crime. Honestly I don't own anything that can be against the law, just a bunch of fossils, ceramic pieces, and some ancient stuff my grandfather gave to me as a gift when I was a kid -a couple of swords and old clocks, and so-.

I was being semi-sarcastic. I agree though that these remains should be housed somewhere and not left to decay outside. They wouldn't be more than a prop, so no artifact law would be in place. I would feel like I was disturbing a holy place in a sense though. It's history, but only important to people like us....
