Did you ever review the Conan script that was written by the two comic writers before Oliver stone became involved?

I would love to either read or know about that one too

Thulsa, you have to grab the graphic Novel "Horn of Azoth" where Roy Thomas and Gerry Conway discuss their original scenario and explain how the Hollywood moguls butchered, watered down and dumbified their original scenario while rewriting it . It was for Conan the Destroyer

Surprisingly, very little is known about this early script/treatment written by Ed Summer and Roy Thomas.

Summer once told me he had donated his only copy to the Margaret Herrick Library (which is located in Beverly Hills). And if you do search on their online catalog, there is indeed a 77 pages CONAN treatment (first draft revised, dated from May 9, 1977) available in their collection.

Unfortunately, I do not live in California! And the Library seems to have a very strict policy of not photocopying any screenplay of theirs under any circumstances...

So I guess the best and only chance you/we have to learn more about this pretty elusive first treatment is that someone just go there and read it, take some notes, then post his own review in here! batman

I think we once talked about the possibility of Roy Thomas/ Ed Summer script adapted into a Marvel Comic issue. scratch

Edit:

The May 1979 issue #86, I think you had sent me scans. Maybe you should ask him if there was any relation? My assumption was that there was, but I can be wrong.
