Thanks to all. The photos were taken yesterday by a friend mine. The town is called La Hija de Dios, near the Amblés valley, to 28 km of Ávila. My friend spoke with some villagers and they remember very well the filming on Conan 26 years ago. Some villagers have objects of the set!

Hey, octopus, let's bring your friend to this board ! We wanna hear his stories !

Is the Hija de Dios town far from the spot where he took the photos? Cause I don't see no town on them... scratch

La Hija de Dios is very close to La Garganta, the place of the wheel. In the construction of the wheel worked people of the near towns of Robledillo and Solosancho. The children who are tied to the wheel were from Segovia. The Arnold's bullock cart belonged to a neighbor of Solosancho.

They have lost the paint and the shine, but here are the heads of the gargoyles of the wheel of the pain. The photos are courtesy of my friend of Salamanca, Spain.

Those are nice archeological props indeed. Thanks for sharing! thumleft

*There was a Spanish guy from another forum I knew, he said he lived a few miles away from Cuenca and he recalled some filming after I reminded him that movie was filmed there.. but sadly CONAN wasnt one of his favorites movies , so I never pried any further. Small world though.

Is there any close-up of those carved images on the stone? Also was this originally constructed for the movie, or re-dressed older structures?
