How about Jessica Biel as Red Sonya????

She DEFINITELY has the physique for it.

Yeah, but would they use Roy Thomas/Marvel's version or R.E. Howard's Wild West original version?

Jessica Biel just popped into my mind. Like CONAN, Hollywood is also planning to remake RED SONJA.

Red Sonja could definitely stand to be remade, as it was nearly laughable (& Kull the Conqueror was not much better).

However, I (personally) am not keen on a Conan the Barbarian remake. If they want to re-envision the concept & "start over" (the way they did with 'Batman Begins' after the Burton/Schumacher films) that's one thing, but to try to improve on the cast, story, cinematography, musical score, & overall ambiance of the original Conan film, is an exercise in folly.

I do realize that there are hordes of R.E.H. & Marvel comic fans that don't like the Milius/Schwarzenegger film at all, but in truth, that film was not made to satiate them. It was a labor of love for Milius, & it is what it is.

Yeah she certainly has the athletic body, but perhaps to muscular. But she looks good and could probably pull it off.

Angie Everhart looks more the character to me though.

I really hope they don't remake the Brigitte Nielsen's movie, and come up with a fresh and new script. I found the Nielsen one very disjointed. And I think we will all agree that the Tarn/Falkon subplot was a dumb addition and a very bad idea !!!

REH created the character of Red SonYa of Rogatino, a gun-wielding fighter who had a grudge against the Ottoman Sultan and battled Turks during the Siege of Vienna in 1529, in the story called The Shadow of the Vulture (January 1934). Read the clarification about the two characters here.

Yeah, what Axerules stated there.

The R.E. Howard version is described as a Western set in the Middle Ages, and we know how he loved his Western yarns.

I guess I shouldve said, Western-esque.

I agree. Milius film was aimed towards a young audience and more the comic book fans, starting at the age of 10 or 12 and up. I wouldve only liked to have seen CONAN remastered, cut scenes and all. Maybe even have THX work on it..but at this point in time, it doesnt seem like it will happen.

The company that bought the production rights for a Red Sonja movie is the same one that bought the Conan movie rights -- Millennium Films. So, I say: why not make a " crossover " movie ? a movie with both Conan and Red Sonja, instead of two separate movies ? (with a different storyline than the animated Red Nails movie, of course !)

Come to think of it, Albion Swords recently dropped their CONAN line, well they chose not to re-new their contract with CONAN Inc. But was wondering whether or not it had to do with the new CONAN owners or movie? Regardless its fucked up.



Some of CONAN.com members, even the administrator's seems to want to focus on a so-called Purist version of Howard's character and lighthearted LOTR stylized crap. I was banned simply for sticking up for the movie and being "Pro-Milius". They banned a few members simply for being CONAN movie fans, and cleaned house in 2003, and then went to TAF to troll. This is the kindve mentality involved.

I glad you all agree with Jessica Biel as Red Soyna. She is a excellent choice, it will be very intresting to see her with red hair. It has been recently rumoured Hollywood is considering Jessica Biel to play Wonder Woman in the film version of JUSTICE LEAGUE with Brandon Routh as Superman and Christian Biel as Batman.
I don't know about her as Wonder Woman. I see Susan Ward in the part.
Still, Jessica is a good choice for Red Sonja.

I still imagine John Cena as Kalidor, but there is one other actor i also imagine as Kalidor. Matt Keeslar. Matt is a handsome and hunky american actor born in 1972, he starred in the mini-series FRANK HERBERT'S DUNE as Feyd, the evil gladiator and nephew of Baron Harkonnen (originally played by Sting in the 1984 film version).

I know RED SONJA wasn't a great movie. Hopefully in the remake, Hollywood will find deceasnt actors. I agree with all of you with Jessica Biel as Red Sonja. Hollywood has decided not to cast her as Wonder Woman in JUSTICE LEAGUE. I was right about her not suiting the part.
