| Ey guys, do you know the dates of the different artworks Casaro made for Conan?
I'd like to know if he painted them before or after the movie was filmed. | |

| Not sure of exact dates, perhaps one of the staff can help with that. According to Casaro(the exlussive Website Interview) however, the CONAN poster was made even before the STAR WARS one. My guess for the CONAN poster or ones its variants had to be in mid Production, sometime in 1980 or 81. | |

| Thanks. The interview says that Casaro received reference photographs of the Almeria settings as they were filmed. So yeah I guess he made at least some of the posters before the movie was finished. It would explain why Conan wears a loincloth, a scabbard and a helmet that is not shown in the final movie. (Btw that helmet is not as "original" as the guy claimed, it comes from a Frazetta painting called "A fighting man of Mars", it's the helmet of the princess ). http://frankfrazetta.org/viewimage.php?loc=frank_frazetta_afightingmanofmars.jpg The scabbard is also a Frazetta one. | |

| Yes, thats really a Frazetta, although it did resemble some of the Mongol helmets from the war yurts, just without added furs. | |
