which DVD version is the best?

Which DVD is the best if I'm interested in Conan the Barbarian? There is a region 1 release containing both Conan 1 and Conan the Destroyer + a French version called edition prestige that has 2 DVDs. I want good sound quality and the uncut film. i have heard both are uncut.

The 2 DVD region 2 release is not uncut, I think

conan_collector, do you happen to know what version did the Sci-Fi channel use? They also seemed to have a alternate cut of the movie.

Ok no problem thanks! I was just curious as maybe someone saw it and recognized the variant used. They somehow had a variant where they flipped the Turnian cage bars and some odd photography quirks..except at the end of the movie they had some real different footage at the mountain of power. I wondered where they got their version, its not the normal US TV release print.

The problem about the R1 CE edition which was released back in 2000, is that its in Mono. They never bothered to give CONAN the best treatment in that department.
