| Ooh, so it definitely is a river... And that cromlech-like at the right, could that be The Mounds??
Mmm no I don't think so, as the Mounds are near the ocean.

| No, in fact I didn't notice the Hyperborea word till you mentioned it, but impossible for me understanding the rest.
So, is Genhis Khan supposedly in Hyperborea then??? Is there where they took Conan, wasn't he sent to the East to learn Kendo?????

| If you're wondering if there is an actual comparison in the magazine, I don't think there is. I simply posted that scan in reference to a different subject because of a small paragraph on that page. The scan was taken from a "Starblazer Special" magazine, these were pretty common in the 80's and often highlighted the then-current movies with 'fan-boy' enthusiasm...so the statement about Ferrigno is just a tool of sensationalism not unlike you might see in a tabloid type rag. I just scanned this the other day, and recall that the article mentioned that Ferrigno is 6'5", I'm not sure how tall Swarzenneger is, I think he's pretty close to 6' though. | |

Its definitely stylized English again which Cobb is using to make it look Chinese or some shit. Also there's 4 stones piled up which resemble the shape of the Atlantean crypt over in the bottom left corner. The Mountain of Power seems to be in the upper far right-hand corner, while the mounds can be seen as well towards the center-left of it(directly below the word Hyperborea, under the 'o' actually, lol). The Map behind the Khan is larger, it shows the missing leftside part. Cobb mustve done up a entire map of the world for the movie, to bad its a rarity.

| It wouldn't make too much sense really if the mounds and the tomb of the king were in that map, really, as these are supposedly unknown sites though it could be But not the atlantean tomb, as it looks like Conan was the first one entering since for a long time. But the mounds should be near the ocean, so that in the map it's more some other cromlech of some kind. The historical Hyperborea would have been supposedly placed in the north of Scythia (that is Cimmeria) so no doubt Milius ignored the REH map and placed his story in historical based lands. It makes a lot more sense since this Hyperborea would be in the modern Turky and beside the Black Sea. Could the sea beside the Mounds be a prehistoric Black Sea? | |

| That seems to be somewhat the case, as I think much the same way. The Mounds should be near a Vilayet Sea yet even according to the 1st draft. The Map was probably hasty made and made early on in production. We need the entire map to really get a good look of it all. | |

| And we can see the sunset on the Vilayet Sea. So either we are on the east shores, either we are on some peninsula. | |
