Milius' Physical description of Conan

Milius seemed fickle also with characteristics of even Conan, and no serious effort was made in order to make Arnold appear more Conan like.. in terms of hair dye and such. However often enough many fans complained about Arnold not resembling Howard's CONAN in terms also of physical appearance, with traits like his trademark black hair.

Well interestingly enough in Milius' script Conan does have the trademark black mane among coarser features.

*This picture to me looks like a pretty good "What If" thing, because of the lighting of this particular photograph, his hair gives off somewhat impression of black.



I guess they felt Arnold didnt look good with black hair. Val Kilmer's character from WILLOW was dyed black, as was Clancy Brown's for HIGHLANDER. It wouldve been interesting though of they tried atleast, but I never really cared one way or the other.

Cromulus, I enjoy your posts, 'cause there're clever and show an unusual knowledge of Conan and his world.
As of Conan, well, Arnorld is good to me as Conan, if you read (no doubt you have) RE HOWARD's work, Conan has black hairs and deep BLUE eyes, now where are these eyes ?
Conan is a myth, to me there will never be the perfect actor for Conan.
To me again, Arnold is (was) the best we'we ever get-frankly- that guy is Conan.

Jauruus, thank you. In CONAN THE DESTROYER Arnold seemed to have wearing blue contacts, can see very blue eyes in the Crystal palace scene. Arnold's real eyes are grayish-green. Of course I agree with Arnold as Conan, when he took the character seriously he was great. CTD just wasnt nearly as gritty and mature as CTB, and even his Terminator became watered down, because he wanted more humor.

Anyway, I think Conan in the Millius movie is individual. "Inspired by", "based on", whatever. Is a single character, and only Arnold can be that ONE as only Al Pacino is Scarface in the 1983 version. The actor-director CREATE a character, and it's different from any other incarnation that could share the same name.

Could be. I personally never took notice, because I never bothered to look up the adult actor.
