| Not so long ago, we were wondering about the real magical powers of Akiro. Well, I was watching again The Destroyer (yeah, yeah, I know, I know... ) and how surprised was I to discover a new one we did not even know about : ubiquity ! Ubiquity = the ability to be in different places at the same time Case in point : Akiro is seen riding in the forest along with the others, BEFORE Conan delivers him from the man-eating cavemen tribe ! Huh ? Just go back and watch the scene again yourself if you don't believe me ! Ubiquity, really ? or is it just bad editing ? | |

| This I gotta check. EDIT:*OK, yeah they are using Pre or Post Crystal palace shots. Can see the difference with Conan, with the dark fur on and the next shot bare chested when he speaks about Akiro. They did this in CTB too, mixed up alternate camera angles to make it look like a new scene. Chalk it up to sloppy, shady or just plain bad editing man. PS Good catch though! | |

| As much as its weaker and not up to a par with the first movie.. I always enjoyed it, even as kid. Arnold was quite impressive in this movie and showed off his fighting ability, which with Milius's cuts in CTB we never get to really see Arnold/Conan fight much or kill many with his Atlantean.
I also liked the lovecraft reference with the final Dagoth creature, which I never thought was that bad...I even liked when Dagoth calls upon lightning to strike Conan and he's swinging that He-Man-like battle ax.
One of the most vivid images which sticks in my head..is the triumphant Arnold/Conan standing over the dead Dagoth with the lighting and wind, body bloodied with the golden Atlantean sword with gore on it. That scene inspired me to workout more than any other.
Sarah Douglas was extremely appropriate for the role, and I couldve easily seen her and Bombaata as working with Thulsa Doom and took over the area after he died. I always justified it like that. | |
