Conan the Barbarian Blu-ray cover art revealed!

Please forgive the quality it was taken with a camera phone - this is 100% legitimate! Photo was taken at a manufacturers, official release date is still unknown but one of the special features reads "Exclusive first look at new "Conan the Barbarian" film." So it WILL be released before the new film.

In addition to the original DVD features there are new cast and crew interviews, new alternate scenes, comprehensive study of Robert E. Howard's Conan stories, "Vault" production stills. This version is apparently an "Extended Cut with never before seen footage." I can confirm we're getting a longer cut than the extended DVD as the Blu-ray runs 136mins.

Came here to make a new thread when the Conan blue ray may be available...

I assume the old Milius/Arnold commentary is gone, not being listed here?

Now let's do the math ... Collector's DVD cut was 129mins long ... Blu-ray running 136mins means this New Extended Cut will feature approx. 7MINS OF NEW MATERIAL!!! CROM!!!

Not sure, the Collectors Edition was given the same runtime as the old VHS/early DVD/US theatrical cut of 2 hrs and 9 minutes or 129 minutes. They never added in the additional "bonus" scenes run time which comes out to those extra 5-7 minutes.

No way, the only added scene (Conan talking to Subotai just before the battle of the mounds it´s no more than 2 minutes)

I hope they included some of these scenes:

Conan´s mother killing some Vanir

Pit Fighter girl

Conan cuts off the arm of a guy trying to steal his sword in the streets of Zamora

Battle with the third eyed creature on top of the snake tower

And this other 2 scenes will be a dream come true for me:

Valeria introducing herself as Valeria, Queen of thieves

Conan´s speech to the princess " I was born in a battlefield"

Factor in the longer(european released print) ending with the princess of Shadizar, duh.

Hum. Let´s see. I own the 2002 Spanish dvd release of the movie (region 2). In the case it specifies a running time of 130 minutes.

But the movie (credits included) ends exactly at 125 minutes and five seconds. It has the ending with the princess, the added scene and no censored scenes (the punching the camel and the horses falling scenes are all there) It´s not unusual to find these differences between the real running time and the one specified in the case in a lot of releases. BUt if the running time in the new release is really going to be 136 minutes , that makes 11 minutes of new footage.

All editions say the print is 129 minutes. Where are you getting this 11 minutes from?

But hey I would love for it to have "added new scenes" but the 5-7 minutes extra appear to be nothoing more than the American CE DVD from the early 2000's(Moby Dick scene/extended Princess scene from the Euro print).

Yep, but those two scenes are not "never before seen footage" !

Thr running time in the US and other countries has always been a little off, here in Australia we have the complete uncut version even with the Moby Dick scene and all of the scenes showing the princess at the end, and the movie including credits runs at exactly 125 min and 5 seconds.. So if this extended cut is indeed true for the Blu ray, it will run at around 130 minutes..

Hard to read any of that packaging, but like I said, i hope their is new stuff, but it may be a rehash of the CE DVD minus the Milius/Arnold commentary which was mainly for their proposed tentative CONAN III production set up at the time. And new Conan movie promo and a R.E. appreciation commentary.

Where did you get these infos from ?

Nothing new about Conan and his father climbing the mountain, or his mother fighting in the cimmerian village or the street procession with the Princess or the Beast with three eyes ? What a pity !
