"Jornada del muerto" de John Milius

Ce serait sympa de rassembler ici toutes les informations qu'on trouve sur ce film prévu pour 2009 ; elles devraient d'ailleurs de plus en plus filtrer dans les mois à venir...

Personnellement, ce projet me fait un peu peur : Milius se fait vieillissant, il n'a plus rien réalisé depuis dix ans et j'ai franchement la crainte qu'il nous sorte un modern-day Western à la sauce "Red Dawn". :?

Non enfin, j'exagère un peu là, mais j'attends tellement de ce projet, et puis je voudrais pas que Milius, vu son rythme de production, ne quitte ce monde sur un film foireux...

Pourquoi ce soudain regain d'intérêt pour ce vieux projet qui date de 2003, King Sven ?

Parce que ce projet, contrairement à quantité d'autres, a des chances d'aboutir ; quoique avec John Milius on ne peut jamais être sûr de rien...

Justement, j'aimerais savoir où ça en est précisément...

Ben Triple H s'est blessé en début d'année, et il devait en avoir entre deux à six mois avant de pouvoir reprendre le chemin du ring, donc on est en septembre, ça pourrait coller, et le film apparaît comme étant " en production " sur IMDB (update datant du 8 août). Par contre, il me semblait qu'il y avait un souci au niveau de la production ou du financement, je ne sais plus exactement.

Oui, d'après le net, Triple H est remonté sur le ring tout récemment et comme tu le fais remarquer, les data d'Imdb datent du mois passé, ce qui est encourageant.

Mais rien de neuf sur le cast à part Triple H ?

Des repérages ont eu lieu au Nouveau mexique, mais ça remonte à 2004...

Pour le cast, il était pas question de Robert de Niro et Jim carrey ?

Just not interested in this film and its been delayed so long, which is never a good sign.

Milius really is like a sloth, cant believe he got booted from CONAN, but he never really seemed interested in it for over 15 years, you know prior to 1998/99. By that time Arnold himself was looking at directing according to some Cinescape article from '98. But Arnold was always half-assed with CONAN interest, only when he needed a big hit, he would go back to CONAN.

He turned down Pogue's CONAN/Kull script twice, once in '94 and again in '96 which I thought was a very good read, and worthy CONAN sequel or stand alone film even. He always though chose crappy projects instead, like even that T3.

Wasn't the Charles Edward Pogue CONAN THE CONQUEROR screenplay revamped into KULL THE CONQUEROR around 1992-93?

Yes, the KULL script I have is of September 14, 1993 , so Arnold turning them down in '93/94 then again later on . Guess "The Last Action Hero', "Junior" and even "Jingle All the Way" just had to be made, cause they were superior scripts, with big name directors,LOL.

So you think Arnold was offered the KULL movie version too? I very much doubt that.
According to that source, Pogue wrote the CONAN script in '91 (he says he delivered the first draft in February '92). And it took Arnold a year and a half to decide he was definitely not interested. Then Pogue reworked CONAN III into KULL in mid-'93. But, by that time, I believe Arnold was no longer involved...

Come on, you know the McTiernan one was not as bad as the two others...

Ah, the Arnold movies that could have been... We all know the titles: "Crusade", "Sgt. Rock", "Captain Blood", "Return to the Planet of the Apes", "The Northmen", "With Wings As Eagles", "I Am Legend", "S.W.A.T.", "Doc Savage", "King Conan", etc. Too bad he chose the "comedies" way instead... (thanks to Maria Shriver!)

I read an article in some movie magazine in 1997, article on Kull, they mentioned Arnold turning "Kull" down. Who knows with that.

*I have that "Hyborian Report " magazine article too, where Arnold wanted to make CONAN 3 way back in 1988 and mentioned running for Governor of California. How Ironic is that?
