| I've heard Rose McGowan has been cast as Red Sonja in the new movie version of the CONAN spin-off. I really don't see McGowan as Red Sonja. I think Jessica Biel would had made a better choice. |

| I've put RED SONJA on Imagine Casting. I've cast Jessica Biel as Red Sonja, John Cena as Kalidor and Bridgette Nielsen as Queen Gerden. |

| Dan, I want to make you one question, and please answer, will you?
The question is this: Do you want us to like you, and do you want us to enjoy what you read?
Answer, please.
If you want us to like you, Dan, listen what you must do: there is a rule in this site.
The rule is that you can't start a new thread like this, if there is another thread already open with this same topic.
And there were an already open thread about Red Sonja casting, and also another thread about re-casting the movies.
See? You have broken the rule here.
There was no need to open this new thread.
What you have done is this: you opened a new thread and that make all of us confused, we want order here, not confusions. Do you want the same as us, Dan? If you do, you are welcome. If you break the rules, you may not be welcome.
Please, boy, read the old threads ALLWAYS BEFORE you are going to start a new one, and try to find an old one were you can writte about what you desire.
And a last request, please, Dan, before writting something, ask yourself: IS THIS INTERESTING FOR SOMEBODY ELSE BUT ME? If the answer is NO, then keep it for yourself.
If you do these things, you and us will enjoy our times. If you don't, we won't like you, Dan. | |

| I'm serious man. The president of my Japanese school said this: "We Japanese have a saying, 'We can not find a reason to deny you entrance to our country, so we will let you in. But, once you have finished your business, please leave as soon as you can.'" I just had a flash back when I read your post. Also I have been studying the Japanese culture for over 10 years, so the idea of using the guilt trip to force compliance is dead on. A phrase I once read about involving a teacher and a elementary kid that refused to return to class after recess was over is a good example: "Why are you playing outside by yourself? All the good students are inside learning together. don't you want to be inside with everyone else? We are having fun together, but if you want to be alone stay out here all by yourself. We will be inside playing together when you are ready to be part of the fun." | |

| Actually I was talking to Dan, you can be sure I will never be this way with any other but looks like here we have a friend with strong dificults in communication., lets say. As long as we talk to him like he understand subtext we will be ignored again and again. I simply tried to expose things clearly and without any second meaning, to be sure he will understand, hopefully . I think I treated him with the respect he deserves, but the limits must be drawn I think. I wouldn't play this Fidel Castro like with any other, trust me, it's not my cup of tea. | |

| All right, Dan. I too think Biel would be waaay better than McGowan. I actually like McGowan, she is very yummy but I don't see her as Sonja at all. Biel would be perfect for the role, I think you are right. I love Biel also. Ok? Thing is, what I tried to tell you is that there was another open thread about this same discussion. If you go there and writte this same thing you wrotte in this, there would be no problem. It's only, as we told you, this one one of the very few rules in the forum. These rules serve to maintain this site clear for people like us who come here to read and writte. Ok, I hope you don't feel pressed with these rules and commentaries, it's just that you need to know what we all know, if you want to be an equal to us in terms of this forum user. We know these rules, you must know them too. We try to follow the rules, you must try to follow them too. Then we are all the same, ok Dan? | |

| She was propossed by Milius as Valeria, I think it was Stout who said he knew about Welch by some "nasty commentaries by Milius" A few days ago i bought a dvd of "One million years BC". Dinos and Welch, what else can you ask for, lol. | |

| Anybody thought about Kristanna Loken for that part? Besides T3, he also played Brunhild in "The Nibelungen"- don`t know if you know it, its the most famous legend in Germany. The first time they made a film based on that stuff was 1924. The 2 episodes were Loken appears were made in 2004; the movie never made it to the big screen, yet his viewing levels on TV were pretty high. Here are 2 pics of Loken, what ya think? | |

| Off hand I remember in the Milius 2nd Draft she had Strawberry Blond(red hair) hair and in the 1st Draft, she was dark haired/brunette(closer to Belit in all but name then). Perhaps by the 2nd Draft Welch was seriously taken under consideration. *Torian, Loken played a red-head in that aweful BLOODRAYNE dud, I dont particually think she's a good actress, although she's got a nice body. ________ Back in 1996, I had thought Dina Meyer had potential to take on Red Sonja: Johanne Whalley-Kilmer in WILLOW was a Red-Sonja like character, she had the red hair. I thought the cast of that film was excellent, probably the only Ron Howard movie I liked. Kilmer I thought was great in it, to bad they never made more back then. | |

| There is a script review of the new movie: http://www.latinoreview.com/news/exclusive-red-sonja-script-review-5432 Seems pretty much like an unsurprising rehashment of previous used plotlines and the CONAN movie combined with Marvel and Dynamite comics.. although the latter seems to be more present for usage in the movie. I miss Lord Kalidor already. | |

| I don't particularly like this new trend of opening a movie with a scene artificially extracted from the middle part of the story, then flash-backing to the real opening of the story until reaching the first scene then up to the end... M:I 3 did that and I thought it was very clever and powerful at the time, then IRON MAN did it too, which I found unmotivated and now RED SONJA according to the above script review. What's the point ? | |

| The plotline is uninspired and generic. But maybe it can have redeeming 'guilty pleasure'-like status. | |
