Crom's beard!!

The links didn't appear???

Bah, just type in the search engine on wikipedia's site :

* Natalia Polosmak

* look for "Mummy" and go to section 3.3 "in Russia" , there is mentioned the Conan nickname for the body.

* Pazyryk burials

The necessary citations and serious articles (nothing esoteric here) can be found on these pages as well.

It's because you're a "guest", I think. Create an account & you should be able to post links.

This is very, very interesting Hissar. I already knew about these mummies and the fact they were supposed to be scythians (culture also called "cimerians" rabbit ) but I didn't know they had actually named on the warriors "CONAN". That's pretty, pretty cool.

Long time ago my brother Cromulus here (here? I wonder where he is Razz ) and me wrotte a littlebit about the scythians on the "historical art and symbolism inspiration on Conan" thread.

Kurgans (Clancy Browns, that is Mr. Green ) were a culture that spread though Europe that apparently also were descendants from the scythians/cimerians. They built buirial mounds on the stepes of Russia and Mongolia, very similar to the Mounds of the wizard on the Milius' movie.

These people were the origin of the now known as false myth of the "aryan race", (wich tried to explai the origin of the caucasian men on Europe as nordic). Truth is there has been several "white men" on Europe that came from different places, not just one single nordic race of supermen... Cro-magnons already were white skinned, scithyans too, then came the nordic-looking celts not from the north BUT FROM ASIA and also were and mixed with the people that was there, etruscs and people with white skin and dark hair and eyes from the north of Africa...

Apparently white skin doesn't have a single origin. It happens by the enviromental conditions that turns dark (the original colour of human skin) into pale to be better adapted to a colder heat and sunlight conditions.

Well, it's a really, really interesting topic.

HEy that's one funky pizzaiolo riding there, Cromulus, but pease d'ont state that 4th-5th century BC is 4000 BC!!

4th-5th cent. BC as indicated on the photo of the Pazyryk nobleman is equivalent to 400-500 BC only!!

You got confused there. It happens to everyone .
