| This is obviously the Casaro based poster art Conan pose, was this scene cut or what? I dont remember it in the film. | |

| What is the underscript thing behind him on the photo ? It looks like a piece of the set from the Brytag scene, the one with all the phoney-looking golden shields that Kalidor makes fall onto his attacking enemies... There's blood on Kalidor's sword, so this could match with that scene. Or is it a piece of Gedren's Throne Room set ??? PS: Is it just me or the attacking enemies at Brytag's are sounding like reptiles / making lizard/serpent noises ? Are they supposed to be half-human half-monsters-like ? Or is it just their costumes and helmets ? | |

| I would go with the Brytag scene as well, its the only thing I can think of, his costume also matches that part too. I wonder if this scene was longer? Thats really the best part in the film though, even when Kalidor gives off that little laugh, which was very Conan-like.
Those warriors weren't half Lizards, just crazy bandits dressed as reptiles or goblins or whatever. Another thing which was funny, was how Falkon and Tarn get ahead of Sonja in the first place, when Brytag's toll road was supposed to be shorter. That scene was either unintentional bad comedy or a goof caused by script or editing.

| Einar is probably right, but one thing is bothering me though: the light on the photo looks like outdoor sunlight to me, and the Brytag sequence was taking place in a huge dark cave. On the other hand, maybe the sunlight effect is caused by the bad quality of the photo? Speaking of strange outfits, what's with the ones that the guys attacking and torturing Tarn are wearing? Where do they come from? The town circus or what? Nice giant red hat! Cromulus, I wouldn't call the Brytag sequence the best part in the Red Sonja movie (though I would have a hard time finding what the best part really is in such a mess)! The production design is terrible (the guy lives in a quarry?), Pat Roach looks like a poorman's Oliver Reed, the fight choreography is weak and the way Kalidor just pops up at the right time to save the day is way too convenient (and he keeps doing that during the whole movie! Like when he shows up later on to fight the cheesy Fish Machine). | |

| No, I meant, that scene when Kalidor arrives to save Sonja, not the Sonja herself part.
As far as those idiot ruffians in the Prince Tarn sequence, they looked like some kinda Renaissance era style costuming.
The best costumes in the movie were the bad guy warriors, though thats not saying much. I didnt care for costuming in the movie either. CONAN THE DESTROYER too looked a bit Mad Maxish and recycled CONAN THE BARBARIAN shit.
PS
Maybe that shot is from the beginning of the movie or at the Grandmasters Temple?

I was thinking the same, but then why would Kalidor have blood on his sword? And I find no matching piece of set design at the Grandmaster's Temple... Or maybe the forge/swords room? I say we need a bigger better pic!

| Nope! I just checked the official Marvel comic book adaptation, and there's no such scene/pose in it... Maybe it's just that: a posed (publicity) photo? Anyway, here are two more deleted scenes from the Red Sonja movie: Another interesting shot is the one (on the right) on this pic: Looks like Kalidor is praying (like Conan was at the beginning of The Destroyer)... But I think this one was just posed (like the three others on the left). | |

| Comedians,LOL!
That photo looks pretty cool, it may belong to that part when Kalidor saves Sonja's sister, maybe its an extended shot or another camera angle.

| Cromulus, for me, your pic comes from the Brytag sequence, there's no question about it. Probably a deleted shot of Kalidor when Sonja was escaping on horse... | |

| Yes, the Brytag scene, pretty much as we originally surmised, thanks fellas.
So it looks to mimic that scene in CONAN THE DESTROYER, when CONAN does the same style of posing, to hold off the Horn guards by himself while the others flee into the chamber. One now has to suppose, Kalidor killed more of these dudes before he brought down that shield stand or whatever it was, on top of their heads.

| Yeah he played two parts in that movie, also one of Brytag's guards, maybe he sought employment elsewhere after Brytag's death? *That sword, also looked like the one he used in CTD as Togra. | |

| Is it my idea or Brytag's rocky lair looks a wee bit like a set from Ferrigno's 1st Hercules movie (could be with the king Augeius scene and the chariots....) | |
