Vanir and Mongol Helmet?

This image reminded me of the Vanir standing on the Wheel of Pain with the dragon head behind him, with the axe in his hands and horned helmet on his head, its nearly same exact stance too. Also this helmet the hero is wearing, is quite close to the casaro style seen on the movie poster.



The helmet is a also similar to the one worn by Val Kilmer's character from "Willow".

This cover reminds me of the Rexor scene at the Battle of the Mounds:

We can assume Milius read REH's Tigers of the Sea... Didn't his Viking movie screenplay involve a kidnapped English princess, like in the novel ?

If you're referring to the unproduced Northmen project, it is my understanding that the kidnapped English was originally a monk in the Milius draft. The character was later rewritten into a princess/woman, I think, by subsequent screenwriters. But I could be wrong...

Is that script available anyway ?

I see some of Stone's script there, with the mutants and winged harpies/gargoyles..also the Conan horned helmet and Cobb's Father's sword inspiration as well.
