I don't see John Carter or Dejah Thoris here. More CGI laden rubbish a notch above "Conan the Barbarian 3D " in the effects department but thats about all I wager. I had high hopes for this movie too.

Agree. Another ridiculous movie for teenagers only. BLAND teenagers, let me add.
What I see is a blatant STAR WARS (prequels) rip off. Awesome the movie makes sentenced they would run away from Frazetta designs (since they consider him to be "outdated") and then they cloned all that SW style crap.
The cloning, sadly, is not only on the surface but also on the tone of the movie: clean, neat and beautiful high class with zero soul, zero erotism and zero dignity. Another movie adults fantasy fans would have LOVED, thrown to the garbage.
Only ONE fucking question: why the hell filmakers again and again pretend to win teenager audiences with franchises only adult fans would truly apreciate? Do they really think teens are gonna find any difference between John Carter and any random videogame character? Do they think teens give a shit about Burroughs??? Why aren't they making movies for the tons of adult fantasy fans that exist and are STARVING for movies made for them???? (Well ok those were 4 questions, actually ) Point is, I simply, honestly, don't understand how these people's brains work... Honestly.

Hi Folks. I agree with you both. Sadly though they go where they 'think' the money is. Adults don't like going to the cinema (rubbish, most of the adults I know, including me, love going to the cinema but don't because it's full of idiot teenagers ). And teenagers apparently have more disposable wealth than their parents. And if the character could even remotely be a videogame then even better as it covers an even larger 'demographic'.
Interestingly, most of the students I teach stage combat too are under 23. Even that (live stage combat) is now under threat from cgi. Safer to have a cartoon fight than your 15million a picture actor. Or have a rubber handle with a tiny bit of coloured stub in place of a sword, or axe.

Well I can say that teenagers do like more Conan old style than new style .... but honestly it's Walt disney producing it no? So yu coudl only expect a politically correct sci fi version of Simbad mixed with Aladding and some Prince of Persia stuff...
I hope at least will be nice to see ...

I Went to see John Carter I like it. The main actress Lynn Collins has a cool outfit in the movie and there were women warrior guards as well. Would have been nice if she had worn a thong under her outfit though!!!!
