So why does Conan look like a Maori with eye liner? The movie is like an inspired Xena Warrior Princess episode, which sadly The Scorpion King was as well but it had a brandname due to The Rock,lol.

The tragic thing about this movie is that it had some elements for a great Conan movie.

Good
- Momoa looked like a living version of a Frazetta/Buscema Conan, and he can act. In a proper movie with a better written Conan, we would own the role.
- Nice production design for landscapes, cities, sets etc. The movie in places looked great.
- Lovely epilogue.

Bad
- Laughable plot, gaping plot holes, anticlimatic final battle. Also, trying to give the film a LOTR-like "backstory" was a very bad desicion, unless they were making "Hour of the Dragon".
- Bad make-up and costume design for most villains. Too cartoony and cheesy. Doom's warriors, inspired by the armour seen in films likeAlexander Nevsky, were EPIC. Here the villains looked like a bunch of fools and Xena rejects.
- Inaccurate depiction of Cimmerians, Picts etc.
- Music, or maybe, WHAT music. A merely serviceable score for a Conan movie (even Destroyer sounded epic in places) is unforgivable.

The Millius film was very inaccurate to Howard, or even to the best comics by Roy Thomas, but at least it's a good movie on its own right with great actors, great production and costume design and GREAT music, and with a story arc you can follow. This movie feeels like a pilot for a failed Xena knock-off.

This movie was not any more accurate towards Howard, but I think the main star had a genuine interest in the character but the problem with Conan was that he was never a baywatch playboy ladies man in barbarians garb which i think lead and director wanted to play up on over this actor's sex appeal and female audience which i think meant more to them then a male audience. I do agree they did a good job on the backdrops, but the costuming was terrible as was most of the cast. The movie played out like an R rated version of Hercules/Xena made for TV "fantasy ancient world". This movie had borrowed elements from Milius' movie but also 1997's Kull The Conqueror was thrown in. Obviously those two movies were watched by the screen writers and director for ideas/storyline and it was a loose remake. Oddly enough they also must've watched Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, as they borrowed the prisoner/cage contraption and lowering into lava plot and even the evil wizard falls to his death from off a wooden bridge much like Mola Ram.

I got A copy of Conan The Barbarian 2011. I was very Disappointed with the movie overall.

My main dislike of the movie is the costume designs. The women were wearing far to much for a Conan movie. Rose Mc Gown has only one sexy outfit in the whole movie.
Why is Rachel Nichols wearing so much (where the fuck are her legs). There are nuns in the movie (covered from head to toe). What the fuck are nuns doing in a conan movie and why are they wearing so much.

yes the slave women were good but they were not in the movie long enough.

The women Archers were ok but were not in the movie long enough either.

With an R-rated Conan movie why is there is not one women in a thong are g-string?
