| This is unknown... Appeared in a Savage Sword magazine, but somewhere I read it was a great fake...
The fact is, these sketches look too unreal, as the look of Conan in the 30's was NOT this Frazetta-like but some kind of Prince Valiant, instead. So, this is probably a big LIE but here it is, anyway.

| Yeah, it obviously was a (nice) fake... http://www.conan.com/invboard/index.php?showtopic=4169 - Quote :
- It was later acknowledged to be a hoax, but anyone with (a) a passing familiarity with 1930s art styles and/or (b) familiarity with the famous "Piltdown Man" hoax, could see that it was just for fun. The artwork was clearly contemporary, and if you Google "Piltdown Man" you can get the story of probably the most famous hoax in the history of science -- and the name of the author of that SSOC article was "Charles Alexander Piltdown" (which Sandy Plunkett now claims as a pseudonym).

| Turd you believed that? I am happy with CTB, despite it being cut to pieces and our chances of ever seeing the complete film is non-existent. I Doubt Milius would budge any time soon. All these overkill special effects monster movies are just shit, the fantasy movies suck dick. All remakes and ripoffs is all we're getting now. | |

| Now I think, maybe all this thing started with the real Harryhausen -(who was a sucesor of O'brian in stop-motion creatures effects)- Conan movie project. Or maybe some dude thought about it while watching this cover art, lol: | |
